I discovered many years ago that a large majority of the people that come to me for therapy are uncomfortable with emotions and expressing them. Your emotions are the passion and movement of your mental and spiritual expression and understanding. An important part of healing is to integrate emotions and thoughts. For many, your work will incorporate learning how to feel and express your emotions in a safe natural way.
I do suggest activities, things to think about, and follow through from each session. This gives you an opportunity to actively progress in your healing.
I am a proponent of you attending to your physical needs and recommend having a physical within a year of starting therapy. Many times the influence of proper nutrition, proper vitamins and minerals can have a great effect on your mental and emotional health.
I don’t believe in unnecessary labels because they tend to be limiting to the uniqueness of you as an individual. Therefore my approach is individualistic to help facilitate your healing.
